Dear Readers, CONTENTS

As the decade draws to a close, it’s more obvious
than ever that we are living in an era of great change.
Much like the second-wave feminism and sexual 6 MICRO NEWS
revolution of the 70’s, fifty years on, you can feel
the ‘Winds of Change’ upon us. Gone are the days 10 BEDDOWN
of burning bras, replaced with what seems to be a
constant and polarised battle of opinions splayed 12 MASCULINE STEREOTYPES
all over the internet. In recent times, we have seen
much conversation around the issues that continue Amanda Anderson 14
to impact women today. Equal opportunity in the YOGA 4 BLOKES
workplace and the #metoo movement gained a lot
of traction and rightly so, just to name two. But what 16 CARS & COFFEE
about men? From our experience, most men are avid
supporters of positive change in society for women, 17 MOVIE REVIEW
but are they being left by the wayside as everyone is
swept up in this monumental societal shift? 18 MOVEMBER
Men’s roles in society are being challenged and
changed in an earnest pursuit to realise the positive
change ideals that society as a whole are keen to Josh Hood 20 DINING GUIDE

for women, that there is great onus on men in the support and facilitation of real 26 DEAR ALICE
change. Likewise, for real and positive change in societal outcomes for men to
occur, there is a great onus on women and society as a whole, to actively support 27 PUZZLES
real change. As it is Movember, the month to bring the focus to men’s health, it is an
opportune time to open up and have a conversation about this equally important 28 HOROSCOPES
topic. This month’s feature piece ‘How Challenging Masculine Stereotypes is Good
for Men’, on page 12, opens the dialogue about how society must challenge it’s 29 TRADES & SERVICES
‘norms’, to change the ‘status quo’ around male stereotypes, so that they too may
better look after themselves, despite being taught to put on a brave face and 31 LOCAL CONTACTS
